Jenny Yamagata

Indépendant pour Burnaby Conseil scolaire
My top priorities are to ensure every student in Burnaby has equitable access to education, I want to increase mental health support for students and teachers, and slash the over-inflated executive salaries, as well as put a freeze on their raises.

Biographie

remis au bureau d’élection de Burnaby par le candidat

Hello fellow Burnabarians! My name is Jenny Yamagata. I’m 12th Generation Canadian and have lived in Burnaby with my husband and three children for 15 years.

I'm passionate about advocating for youth. The well-being of our children is my priority: from meeting with the mayor about implementing traffic calming in Forest Grove, to presenting to Council on improving street safety around Sperling Elementary. I volunteered with Burnaby Wildcats and spent six years as a Girl Guide Leader.

Having experienced the frustrations in dealing with the school district while my son struggled without supports he was entitled to, I will ensure all students have equitable access to education. I plan to improve mental health supports and revitalize Grade 7 band.

As a trustee, I aim to reinstate fiscal responsibility, working with honesty and integrity. As an independent candidate, I'm a strong voice accountable to the people, not a party.
