Richard T. Lee immigrated to Canada in 1971 to join his grandfather, who first arrived in 1913. He has called Burnaby home for 40 years. Before serving 4 years as Councillor in Burnaby, Richard served as MLA for Burnaby North for four terms over 16 years, including two years as Deputy Speaker. He served as Parliamentary Secretary for Asia Pacific, sat on Cabinet Committees for a Strong Economy, Open Government and Engagement, Jobs and Training, and Climate Action and Clean Energy, and served on many Legislative Select Standing Committees. Earlier in his career, Richard worked at TRIUMF for 22 years after earning a Combined Honours B.Sc. in Physics and Mathematics and an M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics from UBC. Richard is an active volunteer in the community, serving as a director or honorary advisor for many non-profit organizations. Richard always works to make Burnaby safer and more affordable for families.
