Promesses de Jenny Gonzales Mata

More and more concerns are being raised in regards regulations for e-scooters and e-bikes and how to enforce the current regulations.
I propose that e-bikes and e-scooters be registered and be assigned with a license plate. It will promote accountability and ownership.
This will coincide with another proposed plan I have for citizens watch, a designated platform where residents can send photos of traffic violations and tickets can be issued via registered mail

Jenny MATA is a Filipino-Canadian, raised right here in Richmond, a former Physiotherapist turned Licensed Financial Professional, and a dedicated mother of four determined to make a change!

Jenny's roots in Richmond run deep. Having grown up right here in the community, she attended William Cook Elementary and RC Palmer High School. In 1996, her journey took her to South Carolina to finish high school, followed by the Philippines, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy. Jenny went on to practice physical therapy in both the Philippines and the United States, developing a lifelong passion for healthcare advocacy.

In 2013, Jenny chose to move back home to Richmond to raise her family, wanting her children to grow up in the same safe, nurturing, and vibrant neighborhoods that she fondly remembers from her own childhood, bringing her family’s Richmond story full circle.

Driven by a desire to advocate for those needing support, Jenny joined a leading medical equipment provider upon her return to BC. There, she championed a major provincial initiative alongside the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD). Jenny was instrumental in developing a government-funded recycling program for pediatric medical equipment—such as wheelchairs, standing lifts, and walkers—ensuring that growing children across British Columbia receive the critical, life-altering equipment they need.

Transitioning her passion for advocacy into the financial sector, Jenny now serves the community as a licensed, independent financial professional. While she takes great pride in helping local families secure their financial futures, Jenny is ready to bring her leadership skills to City Hall.

Jenny is running for City Council to promote greater civic awareness, fiscal responsibility, and community engagement. Central to her campaign is her platform, "Grit and Guide," a dedicated women’s empowerment initiative designed to support, mentor, and uplift women.

With her unique background in healthcare and women advocacy, financial management, and grassroots community building, Jenny Mata is ready to help guide Richmond toward a more transparent, safe, and inclusive future.
