Biographie
Carol Day has served as a Richmond Councillor for 12 years and was a school trustee for 3 years.
Re-elected by wide margins on a progressive, centrist platform, Carol has worked tirelessly seeking common-sense solutions to make our vibrant, diverse neighbourhoods safer, our environment cleaner, our businesses thrive and our council more accessible and accountable to taxpayers.
Known for delivering results, Carol’s priority is finding ways of making home ownership and rental housing affordable for working families by advocating for improved zoning bylaws that allow gentle density that enhances neighbourhoods.
She is committed to protecting Richmond’s environment. As chair of VAPOR, she worked to stop the YVR jet fuel pipeline, marine terminal and 80-million litre tank farm, a major risk to the Fraser River. She also helped save our Garden City lands. She understands business having owned a sign company for 43 years and she’s voted against unnecessary tax increases.
