Biographie
Charles Pender is a proud father of two, a dedicated teacher, a passionate community volunteer, and a lifelong resident of Corner Brook.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education from Memorial University, as well as a Master of Arts in Education from Laval University. Over his more than 30-year teaching career, Charles taught at the high school in Corner Brook, inspiring students and fostering a love of learning.
Beyond education, Charles has been deeply involved in our community, serving on a variety of volunteer boards such as the Qalipu Cultural Foundation, the Western Health Authority, the VON, the Corner Brook Board of Trade, and the United Way. His active involvement reflects his commitment to making our community a better place for everyone.
In addition to his community work, Charles brings valuable governance and administrative experience. He was first elected to City Council in 1997 and has served as both a city councillor and as Mayor of Corner Brook. Currently, he is proudly serving his third term as a City Councillor, helping to guide our city’s growth, development, and well-being.
Charles’s background in governance, administration, and community service gives him a keen understanding of the challenges we face and the skills to help find practical, effective solutions.
