Biographie

soumis par le candidat ou son équipe
Carol is a 26-year Tri-Cities resident, proud mom of two SD43 graduate students, two-term SD43 School Board Trustee, current SD43 Board Vice-Chair, an SD43 Audit and Finance Committee Member, and an appointed BC School Trustees Assoc. Finance and Audit Committee Member.

Carol has taken to heart what she has heard from the community, teachers, and support staff, that a School Trustee should be an impartial and independent advocate, so they can best represent the needs of all stakeholders and work collaboratively with the Provincial Government, the five municipalities, and within the Board of Education.

Carol’s community involvement includes serving as the past Treasurer and current Executive Director of the Coquitlam Foundation, is a Director on the board of PLEA Community Services, and a Member of Metro Vancouver Crime Stoppers.

Raison de la candidature

soumis par le candidat ou son équipe
Carol wishes to continue multi-year financial planning strategies, good governance, openness, fair and equal representation, questioning, communication, and continually gaining knowledge to strengthen SD43 so that ALL students are successful now and in the future.

Since 2014, Carol has worked hard to keep putting forward fresh energy, ideas and solutions. With a stabilized budget, we've been able to advance funds to modernize, replace and upgrade facilities and are working to add needed Child Care spaces in the District.  She hopes to continue working with the other Trustees to keep the board fiscally sound and committed to the education of all our students.”
