Allison Patton, a naturopathic doctor and small business owner, has served South Surrey for 25 years and chaired City Council's Agriculture, Environment and Investment Committee. Crescent Beach and Ocean Park are among the last neighbourhoods of their kind in Surrey, and Bill 44 is being used to push density onto them lot by lot. A Safe Surrey Coalition council will give everything west of 140 Street heritage designation, freeze the zoning as single family, pass a no-tree-cut bylaw, and stop the 89-townhome project at 128 Street and 24 Avenue. Once these neighbourhoods are gone, no council can bring them back.
