I grew up in North Vancouver and raised my three children here. I’ve served as School Trustee since 2011, including as Chair and Vice-Chair. My work on DNV committees and with provincial and national organizations reflects my commitment to public education, inclusion and community.

My involvement in public education began long before I became a trustee. As a parent, community advocate and volunteer, I learned the importance of listening to the people most affected by decisions and ensuring their voices are part of the conversation.

Over the years, my community involvement has extended beyond the school board through work with District of North Vancouver committees and provincial and national organizations focused on education, accessibility, disability inclusion and governance. These experiences have given me a broader perspective on the important connections between schools, families, local government and community partners.

One of the things I value most about serving as a trustee is hearing directly from students, families, staff and community members. I have been told many times that people appreciate that I listen and bring their concerns forward, even when I may not agree with them. To me, that is an important part of representative leadership.

After four terms, I bring significant experience to the Board, but I don't believe experience means having all the answers. It means knowing the questions to ask, understanding how to move issues forward, and continuing to listen, learn and improve.

Public education has shaped my life, my family and the community I grew up in. I remain deeply committed to ensuring our public schools are places where every student has the opportunity to learn, belong and succeed.

I am seeking a fifth term because I still have something to contribute and there is important work ahead. I bring experience, a strong understanding of governance, and a commitment to listening, learning and speaking up for students, families, staff and public education.

Public education is constantly evolving, and our schools need to respond to the diversity of students in today's classrooms. We need to strengthen literacy and numeracy, ensure students feel they belong, support different ways of learning, and advocate for provincial funding that gives students and staff the resources and supports they need.

After four terms, I bring significant experience to the role, but I don't believe experience means having all the answers. It means knowing the questions to ask, understanding how to move issues forward, and being willing to speak up when something needs attention.

I also believe representation begins with listening. Students, families, staff and community members need to know their voices matter. I may not always agree with every concern brought to me, but I will listen, ask questions and bring those concerns forward.

I am running again because I care deeply about public education and believe I can continue to make a meaningful contribution to North Vancouver's students, schools and community.
