Muhammad Ahmad is a community leader, communications professional, and candidate for Mayor of Vancouver. At 34 years old, he is among the youngest candidates to launch a serious mayoral campaign in Vancouver’s modern history and the founder of Bright Future Vancouver, a new civic movement focused on housing, affordability, transit, public safety, and building a city that works for its residents.

Born in Lahore, Pakistan, Muhammad grew up in a working-class family where he learned the importance of hard work, opportunity, and community. His leadership journey began through student leadership and community service, including involvement with organizations focused on youth development, human rights, environmental protection, and social impact.

After moving to Canada, Muhammad built a career in communications and stakeholder engagement, helping organizations communicate complex issues clearly and effectively. He has experience working across public service, transportation, aviation, energy, and community-focused initiatives.

Muhammad has also taken on leadership roles within his community, serving as Chair of the Strategic Advisory Board at Alpharay Consulting and Vice President of the Board of Directors at Dunbar Memorial Preschool.

His approach to leadership has always been rooted in understanding people, listening to their experiences, and finding practical ways to help. He believes leadership must be rooted in empathy rather than ego.

During his time in British Columbia, Muhammad was involved in supporting communications and coordination efforts during the BCGEU public-sector strike, which lasted eight weeks and involved up to 34,000 members. His work included supporting communication between stakeholders, coordinating with picket leadership, and assisting with the transition toward an agreement that delivered annual 3% wage increases, improved remote work policies, and a faster grievance process.

A husband and father raising two young boys and a newborn daughter in Vancouver, Muhammad is running for Mayor because he believes the city needs a new generation of leadership focused on practical solutions, accountability, and creating a future where people who work in Vancouver can afford to live here.
