David Grewal is a lifelong Vancouverite, entrepreneur and father of two. A former West End BIA Chair and energy company founder, he has spent the past four years advising the Mayor, bringing business and community experience to City Hall.

David Grewal is running for Vancouver City Council with ABC Vancouver.

David Grewal is a proud Vancouverite who was born and raised in the city and has dedicated his career to building businesses, strengthening communities, and serving the people of Vancouver. With an engineering degree and a business diploma, he has combined technical expertise with entrepreneurial vision to create successful ventures that contribute to the region’s economic growth.

As an entrepreneur, David founded two leading Vancouver-based energy companies, establishing a reputation for innovation, strategic leadership, and sustainable business development. His entrepreneurial pursuits have also expanded into the hospitality and healthcare sectors, reflecting his commitment to creating businesses that serve the evolving needs of local communities while generating meaningful employment opportunities.

A devoted husband and father of two, David understands the importance of building a city where families can thrive. His professional achievements have always been complemented by a strong commitment to public service and community involvement.

David served as Chair of the West End Business Improvement Association, where he worked closely with local businesses, residents, and community organizations to support economic vitality, neighbourhood safety, and vibrant public spaces. His collaborative leadership helped strengthen relationships between stakeholders and advance initiatives that benefited one of Vancouver’s most dynamic neighbourhoods.

For the past four years, David has served as Senior Advisor to the Mayor of Vancouver, providing strategic advice on key municipal priorities and helping advance initiatives that support economic development, community engagement, and effective local governance. Through this role, he has worked alongside community leaders, businesses, and residents to help address the city’s most pressing challenges and identify practical solutions.

Throughout his career, David has remained deeply committed to community advocacy. Whether through business leadership, public service, or volunteer engagement, he believes in bringing people together, fostering collaboration, and creating opportunities that strengthen Vancouver. His leadership is guided by a commitment to integrity, innovation, and building a more prosperous, inclusive, and resilient city for current and future generations.
