This is already done in some ways where if someone needs a simpler surgery that a private clinic might provide already, the province will assess what it costs them to do and offer the private clinic the same amount. The patient then goes to the private clinic, but it is still covered by public health dollars. This could be expanded further where people can have the option to pay for more services on their own or through private health insurance. As it is, people with money are already going to other countries to beat the long wait lines in Canada.
