“I am running to be your BC Greens MLA because I believe we can be a province of hope and ambition.”

Griffin Leonard Lea is a Canada Post letter carrier, theatre producer, actor and longtime political volunteer with experience in labour advocacy, arts and culture and community organizing.

Born and raised on Vancouver Island, Griffin holds a diploma in film production from the Pacific Film & New Media Academy. He has worked as a letter carrier with Canada Post for nine years and has participated in labour actions supporting collective bargaining, fair wages and safe working conditions.

Griffin also has extensive experience in the arts. He co-founded and operated a theatre production company that employed dozens of local artists and helped support nearly a decade of productions connected with Atomic Vaudeville. His work as a producer and actor has given him firsthand experience with the challenges facing artists, cultural organizations and small creative businesses.

He has also spent many years volunteering in politics and has contributed hundreds of hours to election campaigns. While living in New Zealand, Griffin worked as an Elections Officer during the 2011 election and gained direct exposure to its Mixed Member Proportional electoral system, strengthening his interest in electoral reform.

Griffin’s priorities include workers’ rights, support for local entrepreneurs and the arts, affordable non-market housing, public healthcare and mental health services, public transit, renewable energy and environmental protection.

Griffin is running in Powell River-Sunshine Coast to bring his experience as a worker, organizer and arts professional into public service and to advocate for stronger communities, environmental stewardship and a more representative democratic system.
