“I choose clean air and water, healthy ecosystems, strong public services and an economy that works for everyone.”

Françoise Raunet is a mother, public school teacher, union leader and lifelong Vancouverite who lives in a housing co-op in Vancouver-Fraserview. With more than 30 years of experience across education, publishing and community services, she has spent much of her career advocating for strong public schools, healthy communities and a more sustainable future.

Françoise is currently on leave from the classroom while serving as a Vice President of the Vancouver Elementary and Adult Educators Society. During her career with the Vancouver School Board, she has worked in a range of roles including School Support Worker, Resource Teacher, Late French Immersion teacher and District Curriculum Support Teacher.

Her experience also extends beyond the classroom. Françoise spent five years living and working in Taipei, Taiwan, where she worked in educational publishing. She holds a Bachelor of Education, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts in International Studies with a focus on Complex Emergencies. She is fluent in French and also speaks some Spanish and Mandarin.

Françoise has spent decades advocating for healthy ecosystems, peace, electoral reform and economic reform. She previously ran as a BC Green candidate in Vancouver-Point Grey in 2011 and 2013, bringing her commitment to public education, climate action and democratic accountability into provincial politics.

As an educator and union leader, Françoise believes effective leadership means listening, bringing people together and working toward practical solutions. She is running in Vancouver-Fraserview to advocate for strong public services, environmental protection, economic fairness and a future where communities can thrive.
