Cap grocery store profit margins on essentials, including milk, eggs, cheese, butter, and poultry

"Price Guard to cap profits on the basics: Set a hard ceiling on retail margins for everyday essentials, including milk, eggs, cheese, butter, and poultry, which already have wholesale price management. This applies to corporate retailers only and prevents them from unfairly marking up food for customers and from reducing compensation for local farmers." — bcndp.ca, retrieved 2026-10-13

Suspend 10¢/L of the provincial gas tax

Empower the BC Utilities Commission to enforce strict pricing rules for gas and diesel and cap industry margins

"Eby noted that Donald Trump did not just start a trade war with Canada; he also launched the war in Iran that caused global oil prices to spike. Oil and gas companies then used the conflict to unfairly inflate their margins by 20 cents a litre at the expense of drivers and truckers, based on the latest data from the BC Utilities Commission. This corporate price gouging has cost British Columbians an estimated $865 million in added fuel costs, while the four largest Canadian oil companies doubled their quarterly profits to a staggering $13.3 billion. Donald Trump is now threatening a ban on diesel exports, which would cause diesel prices to skyrocket.

To support families while Trump’s harmful actions cost British Columbians, David Eby’s plan will include suspending the provincial motor fuel tax by 10 cents per litre on gasoline and diesel. The plan also includes a “price guard”, which will empower the BC Utilities Commission to enforce strict pricing rules and cap excess industry margins. Taken together, these actions will provide direct relief at the pumps – saving drivers up to 30 cents a litre and $20 per tank for an average family vehicle. Short-haul truck drivers will save as much as $116 every time they fill up a tank of diesel."

"By cleaning up the financial management at ICBC and implementing Enhanced Care, Eby saved the average driver an approximate $500 per year and froze rates for seven straight years – holding the line while premiums in Alberta have surged by 65%. Under Eby’s plan to protect British Columbians from rising costs, he will extend the freeze for three more years until spring 2030, which means that under the BC NDP, ICBC rates will have been frozen for a full decade." — bcndp.ca, retrieved 2026-10-13

Introduce a new marginal tax bracket on income over $1M, at a rate of 24.5%

"The increase to the top two tax brackets and introduction of a new bracket on income over $1 million would start in the 2027 tax year and are projected to raise $225M in 2026/27, $925M in 2027/28, and $1,000M in 2028/29." — bcndp.ca, retrieved 2016-10-13

Increase the marginal tax rate on income over $190,405

"The changes only impact the top 3.88% of British Columbian income earners. The increased tax rate only applies on income earned over each tax bracket threshold. There is no change to the taxation on the portion of income of any taxpayer that is below $190,405, so an individual with a taxable income of $200,000 only pays an increased rate on the last $9,595.

For very high income individuals:

  1. The portion of their income between $190,405 to $265,545 will be taxed at 18.8%
  2. The portion of their income between $265,545 and $1,000,000 will be taxed at 22.5%
  3. The portion of their income above $1,000,000 will be taxed at 24.5%."

Suspend 10¢/L of the provincial gas tax

"To support families while Trump’s harmful actions cost British Columbians, David Eby’s plan will include suspending the provincial motor fuel tax by 10 cents per litre on gasoline and diesel." — bcndp.ca, retrieved 2026-10-13

Extend the freeze on car insurance rates for three more years

"By cleaning up the financial management at ICBC and implementing Enhanced Care, Eby saved the average driver an approximate $500 per year and froze rates for seven straight years – holding the line while premiums in Alberta have surged by 65%. Under Eby’s plan to protect British Columbians from rising costs, he will extend the freeze for three more years until spring 2030, which means that under the BC NDP, ICBC rates will have been frozen for a full decade." — bcndp.ca, retrieved 2026-10-13

I'm running because I know what we can accomplish when we work together. I've helped deliver real results for Chilliwack-Cultus Lake, and there's more to do. Our community deserves a strong voice at the government table, and I'm ready to get back to work for you.

I'm running because I believe in our community, the people who call it home, and what we can accomplish when we work together.

When I had the privilege of serving as your MLA, I saw firsthand what happens when we bring local voices to the government table. We made progress on things that matter here at home, including investments in schools, health care, housing, community safety, and infrastructure. I was proud to be part of that work, and even prouder of the relationships we built along the way.

But there's more to do.

Families are still feeling the pressure of rising costs. People are struggling to find a family doctor or access the health care they need. Our local businesses and farmers are navigating real economic challenges, and our growing community needs more housing, schools, and services to keep pace.

I know these challenges aren't solved with a single announcement or election promise. They take hard work, collaboration, and someone who will keep showing up, listening, advocating, and following through.

My experience as an MLA, small business owner, and community leader has taught me that good representation is about more than having a seat at the table. It's about making sure the people you represent have a voice in the decisions being made.

I'm proud to be running with the BC NDP because I believe in building strong public services, supporting working people and families, and creating opportunities for everyone to thrive.

I'm not running to start something new. I'm running to get back to the work we started together.

Chilliwack-Cultus Lake deserves experienced, accessible representation and a strong voice at the government table. I know how to do this job, I know our community, and I'm ready to get back to work.

Let's move forward together.
