Energy-Efficient Buildings

The BC Step Code was an incredible collaboration. As we near the end of that program, I promise to drive continued action on energy efficiency in buildings.

My time working with a non-profit organization that was focused on energy efficiency within buildings and supporting cities in their attempt to have a more energy efficient built landscape is a large part of why I decided to run. This topic is where I've spent years of my career and I would be thrilled to work with both the private sector and non-profits to understand what is feasible and realistic as we continue to forge a path towards more efficiency.

Green Space

I promise to work towards a Port Moody where all residents can access a local park for a walk after dinner. Green spaces are used and appreciated when they are easy to access!

I am a Director of Product Management who spends my time negotiating, prioritizing, and communicating. I care about supporting local business owners, addressing affordability, and treating climate change like an emergency.

My career has always included relentlessly asking why - why can't it be better, why is it so expensive to fix, why did we build it this way. I became a product manager so I could help ensure the software engineers at my company were focused on the things that would bring the most value to our customers. I've made my way onto the executive team by building consensus amongst the leaders at my company on a clear path forward that addresses as many needs as possible. There's never unlimited budget nor time, so prioritization is essential and clear communication of priorities helps everyone understand the tough decisions that were made.

Personally, I have put my time into volunteering as the elected President of my professional association (Product BC) and with the Fringe Festival (and other similar events). I grew up political in a family who go to protests together, and feel solidarity is what will bring the most positive results for the most people - so I stand with unions, with activists, and with organizers who work to improve the lives of the many.
