Biographie

Richmond resident since 1975. Eric is a former School Trustee and Chair of the Richmond Board of Education, past Chair of the Insurance Council of BC, active Lion and Rotarian, and a staff scientist at the BC Cancer Research Institute.
Eric Yung has resided in Richmond since 1975 and attended Richmond’s public schools from elementary through secondary. Along with his wife Grace, Eric is raising their two children, Megan and Evan, in Richmond.
Eric has been active in many community organizations including the For Children We Care Fundraising Committee for the Children’s Hospital, Pathways Clubhouse, and the Vancouver Diamond Lions, and is a past voting member and Chair of the Insurance Council of BC.
From 2008-2011, Eric was President of the Richmond District Parents’ Association and in 2011 and 2014 he was elected as a School Board Trustee. Eric chaired the Richmond Board of Education in 2015 and 2018.
Eric holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from UBC, and a Ph.D in Molecular Genetics from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. After receiving his doctorate, he continued his research at Harvard University in Boston where he worked in cutting-edge gene therapy research. Eric is currently employed at BC Cancer Research Institute in the immunotherapy program.
