He is focused on experienced leadership, strong school facilities, responsible budgeting and helping students and staff continue to thrive.

Joe’s involvement in Delta schools began nearly 20 years ago when his sons attended Beach Grove Elementary in Tsawwassen. The close-knit school community drew him into public service, first as a PAC Chair at both the elementary and secondary levels and later as Chair of Delta DPAC, representing parents from all 31 Delta schools.

In 2022, Joe was elected as a School Trustee. Since then, his fellow trustees have twice elected him Chair of the Delta Board of Education. He has also represented Delta at the regional and provincial levels, including through the BC School Trustees Association Provincial Council, and chairs the Delta School District Audit Committee.

Joe believes strong school governance requires both fresh ideas and experienced leadership. His years working with families, staff and community stakeholders have reinforced the importance of trust, collaboration and keeping student success at the centre of decision-making.

His priorities include improving school facilities through partnerships, protecting classroom funding through responsible budgeting and strengthening inclusive learning and student supports, particularly as the District navigates a challenging economic environment.

Outside of education, Joe is a registered architect in British Columbia and has operated his own corporate practice since 2002, with a focus on residential and commercial architecture. He has served as architect of record for more than 1,000 projects across the province, with total construction values approaching $1 billion. That experience has given him a strong understanding of complex systems, long-term planning and bringing people together to move projects forward.

Joe’s sons are now young men and graduates of Delta schools. He is seeking re-election to help other Delta students and families have the same opportunity to graduate with purpose, options and confidence in their future.
