I believe voters deserve trustees who will listen, ask questions, consider the evidence and make responsible decisions. I am proactive about bringing forward motions and advocating for positive change, but I will not make promises simply to win votes. As a trustee, I have a responsibility to understand the issue, consider the options and listen to different perspectives before deciding what is in the best interests of SD62.

Sometimes that means acting quickly when an issue needs attention. Other times, it means taking the time to gather more information before deciding on the best path forward. I believe that is what responsible governance looks like, and it is the approach I will continue to bring to the Board table.

Managing Growth Responsibly

SD62 continues to grow, creating significant pressures on facilities, capacity and resources. While growth is beginning to stabilize, we are still catching up with the demands created by years of rapid expansion.

Meeting these challenges requires more than identifying what we need. It requires understanding the jurisdiction and complexities of public education and knowing where and how the Board can effectively advocate for change. My experience and record at the Board table highlight my ability to navigate these complexities, work with partners and advocate for the resources our district needs.

Growth is about more than constructing new schools. We need to consider the furniture, equipment, technology, learning resources and other supports that make those spaces functional and effective. At the same time, we need to responsibly maintain and renew the schools we already have.

I will continue to advocate for thoughtful long term planning so that our district is prepared for growth while being responsible with the resources entrusted to us.

Student Success and Well Being

Students are at the centre of every decision I make. I believe students are better positioned to learn when they feel a strong sense of belonging, connection and safety within their school community. Feeling connected can make a tremendous difference in a student's ability to focus, engage and succeed.

Student success and staff well being are also closely connected. Supporting our staff directly supports the quality of education and experience we provide to students. I will continue to advocate for decisions that recognize this connection and support welcoming, inclusive school communities where students and staff can thrive.

Strong Governance and Financial Stewardship

Public education comes with a significant responsibility for the resources entrusted to us. I believe trustees need to provide strong oversight, ask thoughtful questions, understand the evidence and make decisions that balance today's needs with the long term interests of our district.

My background in financial administration, combined with numerous governance roles and years of education advocacy, gives me a strong foundation in accountability, financial stewardship and effective governance. My experience serving at the SD62 Board table highlights my commitment to thoughtful decision making, strong oversight and responsible public service.

I take this responsibility seriously. I show up, I come prepared, I listen and I do the work. I will continue to bring that commitment to the Board table and advocate for our students, staff and communities while remaining open to the evidence and circumstances that shape each decision.

I am running because I know the work, understand the responsibility and have a record of showing up and doing it. I am ready to keep building on the progress we have made, with students at the centre.
