Carlos Suarez Rubio, born in Colombia in 1980, immigrated to Canada in 2002 as a political refugee, drawn to the freedom and security the country offered. He completed his high school education and ESL studies in Toronto. He has gained diverse experience in various industries, including construction, hospitality, and food services, with notable roles at Sobeys, ClubLink, and the Rogers Centre.

In 2010, Carlos experienced a spiritual transformation, which led him to pursue a career in the military. Although he did not meet the requirements for the Navy, Carlos redirected his efforts towards academic advancement, enrolling at Camosun College to upgrade his studies in Math and English. Later, he transferred to Trinity Western University, where he earned a degree in Political Studies, focusing on human rights, dignity, and ethics.

In 2022, Carlos ran for municipal office, securing 1,369 votes despite limited name recognition. In 2024, he was offered a nomination with the Conservative Party of BC but, after facing vision requirements for an RCMP application and an unsuccessful campaign to secure the nomination, he chose to run as an independent candidate for Langley Walnut Grove.

In 2023, Carlos joined the People's Party of Canada (PPC), aligning with the party’s platform and policies. Inspired by Maxime Bernier’s leadership, he renewed his membership for five years and is now running for a federal seat in Abbotsford South Langley. Carlos is committed to bringing fresh perspectives to Canadian politics and advocating for policies that place the needs of Canadians at the forefront of government decisions. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership at Trinity Western University while working full-time and dedicating himself to community building.
