My name is Stephen MacLeod and I am the New Blue Party of Ontario candidate for the Timiskaming-Cochrane riding. I am 45, a husband and father to 2 children and we live just outside of New Liskeard on a small property that we are homesteading on. We love our chickens, rabbits, and turkeys, and we grow our own food during the summer months. I am currently a long-haul truck driver so I know firsthand the issues all drivers face on our roads. Mr. Vanthof has done a lot of work over the past few years in raising awareness of the issues in training commercial drivers and the dangers on our northern highways and I for one am grateful for his hard work. My goal is to take what he's done so far and kick things into motion by creating a task force to work with the MTO and various communities to create and implement solutions in an expedient way. In fact, if I am elected to serve as your MPP, I will gladly work with the other elected MPPs regardless of the party they represent because I firmly believe the goal we all share is that we want the best for each of our ridings. I also wholeheartedly stand with the party in their plan to reduce the HST from 13% to 10% with the goal of eliminating it as well as the plan to eliminate the PC government's carbon tax and the federal government's carbon tax. I also agree with the plan to end “woke” activism with the removal of critical race theory and gender identity theory from Ontario schools. The New Blue Party and I shall not support any authority imposed by the United Nations and the World Economic Forum in the Province of Ontario. I believe Canada is profoundly rich in every resource we need however the federal government limits and hinders all inter-provincial trade. I will push for more autonomy in this regard and fight for the right for provinces to be able to trade with each other once again. I have a passion for helping people and I promise to fight hard not just for this riding but for all of Ontario. So on February 27th, remember to vote and vote for the New Blue Party of Ontario
