Campbell River is growing, and Brittany Colville believes we can build the housing, infrastructure and opportunities our community needs without sacrificing the natural spaces that make this such an incredible place to live.
One of the reasons Brittany decided to run for City Council is her growing concern about the loss of green space as our community develops. We aren't creating many new parks, making it even more important that growth is thoughtful about the natural and recreational spaces we already have.
Brittany is passionate about protecting the Simms Creek Greenway, supporting Indigenous stewardship of the Beaver Lodge Lands, and preserving Pinecrest Park rather than converting parkland into parking. She supports finding creative design solutions that accommodate the parking needed for the new Strathcona Gardens while protecting valued green space.
Brittany studied Political Science at UBC, with a focus on governance and Indigenous political theory. Her diverse career has included government, tree planting, designing solar energy systems, technology and software, and running a small business. These experiences have taught her the importance of listening to different perspectives and finding practical solutions.
Brittany and her husband chose Campbell River as the place they wanted to build their life and raise a family. She is running to bring a fresh, collaborative perspective to Council and help build a community where people of all ages can afford to live, work and thrive.
For Brittany, responsible growth isn't about choosing between progress and conservation. It's about protecting what we love while building what we need.

I’m running to protect Campbell River’s green spaces while supporting sustainable development that builds housing people want to live in and strengthens our community. I’ll advocate for responsible growth and say no to AI data centres.

Campbell River is growing, and I believe we have an opportunity to shape that growth in a way that makes our community stronger without losing what makes it special.
I want to see more housing choices for people at every stage of life. From young people and families trying to put down roots, to seniors looking to downsize. At the same time, growth shouldn’t come at the expense of our parks, waterways, urban forests and green spaces. We can build what our community needs while protecting the natural places that contribute so much to our quality of life.
I also want to be a strong advocate for residents and bring an open, collaborative approach to City Hall. That means listening, asking questions, working with community organizations, local businesses, First Nations and other levels of government, and making sure residents have a meaningful voice in decisions that affect them.
I support economic development that creates good local jobs and provides long-term value to Campbell River. I will not support AI data centre proposals in our community. Our land, water and energy are valuable resources, and I believe we should prioritize industries and investments that use them responsibly and deliver real benefits to the people who live here.

Je souhaite voir davantage de choix en matière de logement pour les personnes à toutes les étapes de la vie — des jeunes et des familles qui cherchent à s’établir, jusqu’aux aînés qui souhaitent réduire leur espace de vie. Parallèlement, la croissance ne devrait pas se faire au détriment de nos parcs, de nos cours d’eau, de nos forêts urbaines et de nos espaces verts. Nous pouvons construire ce dont notre communauté a besoin tout en protégeant les milieux naturels qui contribuent tant à notre qualité de vie.
Je veux également être une voix forte pour les résidents et adopter une approche ouverte et collaborative à l’hôtel de ville. Cela signifie écouter, poser des questions, travailler avec les organismes communautaires, les entreprises locales, les Premières Nations et les autres ordres de gouvernement, tout en veillant à ce que les résidents aient une véritable voix dans les décisions qui les concernent.
Je soutiens un développement économique qui crée de bons emplois locaux et apporte une valeur durable à Campbell River. Je ne soutiendrai pas les projets de centres de données liés à l’intelligence artificielle dans notre communauté. Nos terres, notre eau et notre énergie sont des ressources précieuses, et je crois que nous devons donner la priorité aux industries et aux investissements qui les utilisent de manière responsable et qui procurent de véritables avantages aux personnes qui vivent ici.
Je me présente pour apporter une voix nouvelle et pragmatique au conseil municipal et contribuer à faire croître Campbell River de façon réfléchie et durable, en plaçant notre communauté au cœur de chaque décision.
