First, we will protect our parks — by defending an independent elected park board and working to permanently protect parkland that doesn’t currently have that legal protection.

Second, we will renew our recreation facilities. TEAM is committed to making parks and recreation a major priority in the city’s long-term capital planning—addressing years of deferred maintenance and investing responsibly in facilities such as our pools and community centres.

Third, we will keep parks and recreation accessible and affordable. Regardless of income, age, ability, or neighbourhood, everyone should have opportunities to participate in recreation, enjoy our green spaces, and feel that these public spaces belong to them. That includes expanding opportunities for children to swim, play sports, and develop healthy, active lifestyles.
