Biographie
Dr. Rebecca Hasdell is a public health leader, researcher, and community advocate dedicated to building a healthier, more affordable, and more equitable Vancouver. With more than 15 years of experience in public policy, health promotion, and community development, Rebecca has worked across government, academia, and the non-profit sector to tackle some of our city's most pressing challenges—from housing affordability and food security to climate resilience and public health.
Currently serving as a leader at the BC Centre for Disease Control, Rebecca brings evidence-based decision-making and a practical approach to solving complex problems. Her work has focused on creating healthier communities, strengthening local food systems, and advancing policies that improve quality of life for everyone. She believes local government should be responsive, transparent, and laser-focused on delivering results for residents.
A proud Vancouverite, Rebecca understands that the city's success depends on making it more livable for all—whether that means building more housing, improving public safety, investing in vibrant neighbourhoods, or ensuring families can afford to thrive here. She is committed to thoughtful leadership that brings people together, listens to diverse perspectives, and delivers real progress.
Rebecca holds a Master of Public Health and a PhD, and has built her career at the intersection of research, policy, and action. She is running for Vancouver City Council to help create a city that is inclusive, healthy, and full of opportunity—for today's residents and future generations.
