Biographie
Gary Tymoschuk is Chair of the Surrey Board of Education and has served as a trustee representing Surrey families for many years. He is committed to ensuring Surrey students have safe, welcoming schools, strong educational opportunities and the resources they need to succeed.
As Board Chair, Gary has worked with trustees, educators, staff, families and community partners to strengthen student achievement, expand classroom space, support student nutrition and maintain responsible financial management. He believes effective leadership means listening, working collaboratively and turning priorities into results.
Gary is seeking re-election as part of the Surrey First Education team, a group committed to building on the progress made for Surrey students and schools while preparing for the challenges ahead.
He is proud to offer Proven Leadership; Real Results and remains committed to putting students first and ensuring Surrey’s growing school system continues to serve students, families and communities well.

I am seeking re-election because I believe the experience I have gained at the Surrey Board of Education, including serving as Board Chair, can continue to contribute to the important work ahead. Surrey is a growing and changing community, and our schools face both significant challenges and opportunities. I want to continue working collaboratively with students, families, staff, education partners and our community to address growth, advocate for the schools and classroom space we need, and ensure students have the support and opportunities they need to succeed.
For me, public service is about listening, working together and making thoughtful decisions that put students and the future of our schools at the centre. I am proud of what we have accomplished together and would welcome the opportunity to continue that work working with all of my Surrey First Education colleagues.
