Born and raised in Pakistan, Zahid grew up with 7 other siblings. Life was hard, taking care of his siblings and helping operate his family's farm.

With a Master of Laws, Sandhu practiced law for over 12 years in Pakistan before moving to Saskatoon in 2011. He held various jobs when first arriving to Canada including labourer, pizza maker, taxi and delivery driver, before starting his own business.

Sandhu has lived in Saskatoon with his wife and three daughters since first landing in Canada.
