About Jason Glover

I am an active OCDSB parent of two, former three-year School Council Chair, current Co-Chair of the Ottawa-Carleton Assembly of School Councils (OCASC), and current member of the board's statutory Parent Involvement Committee (PIC).

Professionally, I hold the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors, providing formal training in fiduciary oversight, strategic risk management, and ethical board governance.

Over years of direct service within our school system, I have worked alongside parents, principals, and educators through facility challenges, school council handovers, and district consultations. That hands-on experience taught me an essential lesson: effective school board governance requires independent, practical oversight focused on front-line classrooms, not top-down bureaucratic expansion or partisan division.

As Trustee for Zone 11 (River & Gloucester-Southgate), my focus is on operational stability and transparent advocacy:

My 8 Platform Priorities for Zone 11:

Protect Special Education: Safeguard front-line EAs, preserve specialized classes (SPCs), and cut psychoeducational assessment waitlists.

Support Newcomers & Multilingual Learners: Fund robust EAL/ELD educator staffing and strengthen Multicultural Liaison Officer (MLO) partnerships.

Dual-Track & French Immersion Parity: Deliver equal resources across English and French streams, and ensure special education supports exist within Immersion.

Capital Renewal for Mature Schools: Secure dedicated maintenance and HVAC funding for established Zone 11 facilities alongside suburban growth.

OSTA Bus Reliability & EDP Childcare: Enforce driver retention on OSTA bus contracts and coordinate bus schedules with Extended Day Programs (EDP).

Truth and Reconciliation: Champion the Indigenous Education Council and expand dedicated supports for urban Indigenous and Inuit students.

Sustain Arts & Specialized Pathways: Protect classroom arts and ensure equitable access and transit to specialized hubs like Arts Canterbury.

Classroom-First Governance: Direct budget dollars to classrooms rather than central administration, and restore early consultation with school councils.

Public schools succeed when boards listen to the families they serve. I bring proven governance experience, a deep understanding of board policy, and an unwavering commitment to putting our students and classrooms first.

I am running to bring experienced, independent governance directly to the OCDSB. I will ensure tax dollars support front-line classrooms rather than central administration.
