Michael Dehn has been serving as Mayor for the Town of Erin, County of Wellington Councilor and Board Member of Credit Valley Conservation since 2022. Advocating for issues such as road safety, the Greenbelt and protecting farmland, economic development, and financial responsibility, and climate change emergency and infrastructure preparation have been some of his push. As a County Councillor, Michael serves on the Land Division/Planning Committee and Roads Committee. Michael serves as the County’s representative on the Wellington County Plowman’s Association, promoting agriculture, agri-business, and agriculture education.

Michael is also on the non-for-profit board of directors of Alpaca Ontario, Alpaca Canada and the Canadian Baltic Immigrant Aid Society KW-Guelph Chapter. He brings over 30 years of geological and business experience with a strong understanding of surface and groundwater essential for all our communities. Michael has many years of working across Northern Ontario, including more than 20 years of experience in Red Lake. His experiences give him keen insight into rural and northern concerns including infrastructure, health care and education.

Michael’s passion for the environment, economic development, fiscal responsibility and return on investment leads to his push for a better quality of life for all Ontarians. He is not afraid to call out bad actors, and is supporting municipalities and conservation authorities to have stronger, not weaker, enforcement power to stop illegal dumping in environmentally sensitive and agricultural areas. He is trusted for his lead in innovation and new green technology developed here in Ontario in green energy production and environmentally friendly mineral processing technologies. Michael has mapped Precambrian geology in Red Lake, Elliot Lake and Matachewan with the Ontario Geological Survey, was a director of a public natural gas producer in Southern Ontario and was an author of a chapter in the publication Innovative Process Development in Metallurgical Industry. His family runs an alpaca farm near Orton, Ontario.
