Growing up in Thornhill, Ann has lived in King-Vaughan for the past 19 years with her husband, Helmut. Both enjoy spending time outdoors with family and friends. Ann was the King-Vaughan Green Party candidate for the 2015 and 2019 federal elections, and believes in non-partisan politics between election periods.
As a professional engineer, Ann comes with a wealth of knowledge and practical experiences. Her first degree in physical metallurgy, led her to work as a design and production engineer of microwave switches for a communication satellite sub-contractor in Ontario (ComDev). However Ann’s work has primarily been in historical building conservation with contractors and as a consultant, where she utilized her master’s in structural engineering. Additionally, she has a degree in education.
Ann’s enthusiasm has been a driving force in organizing community volunteers and as a front-line volunteer herself. She has helped and worked with seniors, been a counsellor for at-risk youth, a math tutor, a distress phone-line volunteer and executive, and a soccer coach. Since 2015, she has directed her energy toward local climate action initiatives and supporting the private sponsorship of refugees.
Favouring long-view leadership and the pragmatic policies of the Green Party of Ontario, as your representative, Ann will work diligently toward building alliances for climate action, a caring resilient economy, and transparency in government. “We all must pull together to create more possibilities for everyone, now, and in the future.”
