Biographie
Wil is an experienced Equity and Inclusion Advisor at Fanshawe College, having transitioned from a career in IT to focus on human rights and social justice. With a deep commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), Wil works to promote meaningful change both within educational institutions and the broader community. He is also pursuing an undergraduate degree in Equity, Diversity, and Human Rights through Laurentian University.
Wil’s involvement in public service dates back to his 2014 candidacy with the Green Party of Ontario (GPO), where his values aligned with the party’s environmental activism. After a decade of personal and professional growth, including overcoming significant mental health challenges, Wil is now ready to bring his passion for human rights to the GPO once again. He aims to elevate the party’s focus on EDI, advocating for the integration of climate justice and human rights, especially as marginalized communities are disproportionately impacted by climate change.
In addition to his work at Fanshawe College, Wil has been active with the United Way, including as chair of their API Committee, where he worked to drive equitable community investments. He also serves as the Alternate to the Provincial Human Rights Committee within his union and holds a certificate in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion from the University of British Columbia.
Wil believes that his personal and professional journey, while marked by adversity, has equipped him with the skills and resilience to contribute meaningfully to both the Green Party and the broader human rights movement.
