We are excited to announce that Chris Wanamaker is our candidate for Fundy-The Isles-Saint John Lorneville in the 2024 Election.

Mr. Christopher (Chris) Wanamaker was raised in Saint John, New Brunswick, the oldest son of Reginald and Theresa Wanamaker. Following his graduation from St. Malachy’s High School in Saint John he attended St. Thomas University where he completed a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. He later continued with his academic career and completed a Master of Arts (Sociology of Health) from the University of Alberta; a Master of Divinity from the University of Western Ontario; a Master of Education (Counselling Psychology) from Simon Fraser University; and Master of Social Work (Clinical) from the University of Calgary. He has worked as a mental health therapist, addiction counsellor and college counsellor, and as an instructor of counselling. In addition, he has worked as an on-air radio personality and community newspaper editor.

He has had a life long association with the New Democratic Party, assisting with provincial and federal electoral campaigns in Calgary and Hinton, Alberta and Saint John. He is past Chair of the New Brunswick NDP Socialist Caucus.

In recent years Mr. Wanamaker has been the creator, producer and host of a number of community radio and podcast programs, including Capitalism Today, Palestine Solidarity, The David Carr Show, The Open Mic: A Literary Journey into Words and Hot Bottled Poetry.
