Biographie
As the Progressive Conservative candidate for Moncton Centre, Dave Melanson seeks to be a full-time MLA. He will use all his professional and volunteer experiences to help the citizens of this great riding.
Residing in Moncton with his wife Ailsa, and their children Alex Melanson, Luc Melanson and Andrew Robb.
Community leader and volunteer throughout his life with a significant focus on our youth and the safety of all people. Volunteering for many sports and community organizations as head coach, president, chairman, technical director, fundraising coordinator, and secretary of safety committees.
Supported for the past thirty-four years the following groups: Lead on-ice instructor of the Hockey New Brunswick Neurodiverse Hockey Program, receiving national media exposure as one of the best inclusive initiatives in Canada, Moncton Minor Hockey Association, Harrison Trimble Trojans Boys Hockey Team, L’Odyssée Football, Moncton Minor Baseball Association, Codiac Soccer, South East Female Hockey Association, Moncton’s/Dieppe’s High School Hockey Classic, United Way, Heart and Stroke Foundation, City of Moncton Ice Stakeholders, Lewisville Minor Hockey Association, former Moncton Junior A Beavers, Greater Moncton Football Association, Mathieu-Martin Matadors Hockey Team, Kay Community Centre Foundation Small Business Fundraising Team, Charles H. Memorial Scholarship Fund, Professional Institute of Public Service of Canada and many more.
Son of the late Herman Melanson, a World War II Veteran, business owner of Melanson’s Auto Electric, community leader, and the late Marie (Galley) Melanson. She volunteered for many non-profit organizations. She was honoured to serve food at Karing Kitchen in Moncton.
A wealth of professional experience backs Dave Melanson's candidacy. For the past 33 years, he has been a professional engineer with the Government of Canada, holding various roles, including hydrographer, field surveyor, site engineer, project engineer, and acting manager of Hydrographic Services Atlantic Canada. His expertise is further demonstrated by his certification of over 8,000 hockey coaches in New Brunswick over the past 30 years. These professional qualifications underscore his ability to serve all the citizens in Moncton Centre.
Dave Melanson is a proud graduate of école Mathieu-Martin, University of New Brunswick in engineering and Mount Allison University in education. As a further example of his dedication, he has obtained the highest level of accreditation from the National Coaching Certification Program in hockey.
As a full-time MLA, he pledges to devote all his energy to the citizens of Moncton Centre and New Brunswick.
