To ensure that all students feel a sense of belonging, are safe, and a member of the community. If our students are hungry how can they learn? In this housing crisis here, there are students sleeping in their cars. There are a lot of basic needs we can be adressing with dignity.

I am a married mother of 2 and have lived in Nanaimo for 17 years. I love this place so much and being of service is very important to me. I have been volunteering for many years on multiple school district committees as well as serve on a board for at risk youth for 10 years.

My years of advocating students with less can become more impactful. A sense of belonging and being a part of the community. The more safe and included one feels the better they can learn and succeed. Hul’q’umi’num’ at each school and lessons from the land for all.
