First term Trustee running for re-election. Parent advocate for kids with unique learning needs. Original member of BROKE (Burnaby Residents Opposing Kinder-Morgan Expansion), current David Suzuki Foundation Blue Dot Ambassador for Burnaby North - Seymour.
Peter's path to becoming a Trustee began with advocating for kids with unique learning needs. Peter is passionate about creating a school environment in which all children can thrive. The advocacy him and his wife initiated with other Burnaby parents led to the creation of several District programs that have helped hundreds of students meet others with similar abilities, keeping their passion for learning alive. His work to update the SOGI policy to require gender neutral washrooms and change rooms wherever possible helped ensure gender-diverse students feel welcome. Peter and BCA Trustees also developed the District’s first Sustainability Strategic Plan, making our environment a priority. This experience serving the Burnaby school community shows that Peter can get the job done and will work until every Burnaby student feels safe, welcome, heard, and appreciated for who they really are – so that they keep their love of learning.
