Jen Mezei is a running for re-election as your Burnaby Board of Education trustee, where she currently serves as Chair. A public education advocate for over 15 years, Jen was the Burnaby District Parent Advisory Council (DPAC) Chair and President of the BC Confederation of Parent Advisory Councils. Through her leadership work, Jen has been working to make Burnaby schools a safe and inclusive environment, from Indigenous Education and Anti-Racism working groups, to serving as the Vice Chair of the City of Burnaby’s Task Force for Sexually Exploited and At-Risk Youth. This also includes advocacy at the provincial level, such as serving as the Director of the BC School Trustees Association (BCSTA) and working on inclusion & learning support for students with disabilities, equitable access to education, Child & Youth Mental Health, SOGI, settlement services and Early Learning. Jen is excited to continue working for Burnaby families and communities.
