I have been on the Board of Education for Surrey since my election in 2002.

I am currently Vice-Chair of the Board, and have been Chair of the Budget Committee for the past ten years. I am also the School District’s representative on the Parks, Recreation and Tourism Commission.

My family moved to Surrey in 1981. My three daughters all graduated from the Surrey school system. I also have five grandchildren; three are already in the public school system.

I understand the fundamental importance of a sound publicly funded education system, and I believe as a Trustee, I will ensure the Surrey School District maintains its high standard of excellence.

I will also commit to continue to fight for Surrey’s fair share of all education funding and to make sure the funding goes where it is most needed – in the classroom.

Along with my team of Surrey First Education, we will not stop the fight for more classroom space and new schools. We will continue our work in building relationships with teachers and support staff.
