Shawn McLean is a proud Northern Albertan dedicated to hard work, responsibility, and personal freedom. Born in Victoria, B.C., he moved to the Peace region at the age of 10, settling on a farm near Dawson Creek, just west of the Alberta border. Growing up on the farm instilled in him conservative values, which carried through his career. He first worked in communications as a supervisor for a local cable company serving Dawson Creek and Fort St. John, before transitioning into the Oil and Gas sector as a Journeyman Instrumentation Technician in 2004.

Frustrated with the political direction of British Columbia, Shawn relocated to Sexsmith, Alberta, in 2013. As an expatriate worker, he spent time abroad working on research and development projects for offshore drilling platforms. In 2014, he returned to Oil & Gas Production within Northern Alberta, where he continues to work.

Shawn is the father of two and stepfather to three, sharing his life with his partner and their family. A lifelong Conservative voter, he became disillusioned with the CPC in 2021, believing it no longer represented true conservative values. Seeing the People’s Party of Canada (PPC) rise to the challenge, he stepped up to fill the vacant candidacy for Grande Prairie–Mackenzie.

Committed to personal freedoms and national sovereignty, Shawn is anti-lockdown, anti-vaccine mandate, anti-mass immigration, anti-censorship, and anti-globalism, standing firmly for freedom and government accountability. His primary goal, if elected, is to hold elected officials accountable, push for stronger laws against public trust violations, and fight against corruption and cover-ups.
