Seats in the House of Commons should directly reflect how we vote. It's as simple as that. This issue is important to me because I, and so many people, acutely feel the disrespect shown to us by our current system.
The current system doesn't work, we all know it doesn't work, and yet it doesn't change—for me, I can't accept this and keep my self-respect.
We as Canadians are worth and deserve so much better. And it is so possible! The possibility of being all accurately represented and respected is so energizing to me that it fuels my enthusiasm for this very big project of changing how we vote. It means that much.
Last, bad systems don't stay bad. They get worse. The time for something better is always now, not later. And, beautifully, every little bit makes things better! Even before we change how our MPs are elected, every step along the way will connect people, build relationships, reclaim our respect, and show what is possible.
So join in if you can!
