Lets take a deeper dive:
- Affordability: Rising costs of housing, food, and energy are squeezing families.
- Social cohesion and engagement: Mental health struggles, loneliness, political disillusionment, low voter turnout, and a lack of harmony among people are deeply felt.
- Economic pressures: Local businesses and farmers face financial strain and labor shortages, threatening their survival.
The PPC puts people first. We believe government policies too often fail Canadians, especially those hit hardest by economic challenges. Our plan is practical: balance the budget, eliminate national debt, and prioritize Canada’s financial stability—because we can’t help Canadians if the government is broke. We’ll cut foreign aid, ban foreign ownership of housing to ease price inflation, scrap climate taxes and regulations that drive up costs, and pause immigration until Canada’s economy recovers. These ideas have defined us since 2018. We’ll also restore freedom of expression, a cornerstone of open dialogue. For details, check our platform at peoplespartyofcanada.ca/issues.
An MP’s core duty is to represent and engage with their constituents, understand their needs, and act on them. My psychotherapy experience—helping divided families, couples facing collapse, and individuals in despair—equips me to bridge divides and amplify voices in politics. My top priority is ensuring people feel heard and valued, fostering engagement to address their concerns. I want to see record voter turnout after four years in office, proving people have agency and matter. That’s the accountability we should demand in a democracy, and I’ll work tirelessly to deliver it.
Biographie
I’m a father of three—two boys and a girl—and live with my family in Coe Hill, Ontario. For nearly eight years, I’ve worked as a psychotherapist in Ontario, drawing on my studies in science, philosophy, theology, and psychology. I’ve always been passionate about learning and debating politics, but I never imagined running for office until February 2025. While discussing politics with my wife, and being huge supporters of the People’s Party of Canada (PPC), yet our riding had no PPC candidate. I decided to step up, and within weeks, I was officially running. I’m drawn to the PPC’s platform because it addresses Canada’s core needs. As a psychotherapist, I also see how division, poor diplomacy, and a lack of civil discourse threaten our democracy—issues I want to tackle. Low voter turnout reflects widespread disillusionment; people feel unheard and see politics as corrupt or irrelevant. I aim to change that by fostering harmony, encouraging dialogue, and crafting policies that work for all, reducing political alienation and the “all-or-nothing” mindset.
Raison de la candidature
I am campaigning while working full time. I will not be accepting donations or do lawn signs, because I am focusing all my energy on engaging in events, forums, debates and with people. If you have any questions or would like to chat, please email me on (zaid.yusufani@teamppc.ca) and I will be happy to chat with you or answer your questions. If you would like to help, the best way is to gather some people for an event and I would be very happy to engage and talk. I would like to engage even with people who do not agree with PPC’s views, so I can learn and understand their concerns and hopefully serve and represent them if I am elected.
