Jay Sobel has over 30 years of experience representing the needs and concerns of consumers, and collaborating with stakeholders in the telecommunications, defense, health care and consumer product industries to bring patented and award-winning products and services to market.

An Industrial Designer, Ergonomist, and Design Educator, Jay Sobel recognizes parallels between serving the needs and concerns of the consumers of the products he has designed, and with representing the needs and concerns of the residents of Don Valley North whom he would be honoured to represent.

He believes that the platform of the People's Party of Canada provides sensible policies that Canada is in dire need of!  Policies that will allow Canada to responsibly recover from debt, and that will ensure economic growth, freedoms & security!

Jay graduated from the University of Toronto in 1982 with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in the Human Biological Sciences (Pathogenic Microbiology, Virology, Immunology, Mycology Applied to Public Health, Biological Anthropology, and Socio-Cultural Anthropology amongst the courses studied), and then a second time “With Distinction” in 1988 from the Faculty of Engineering and Design at Carleton University, in Ottawa.

He is a Professional Member of the Association of Chartered Industrial Designers of Ontario, of the Association of Canadian Ergonomists, of the Association of Canadian Industrial Designers, of the National Coaching Certification Program of Canada, of the Ontario Lacrosse Association and of the Canadian Kennel Club.

A consulting product design professional, Jay Sobel has also been teaching Human Factors and other design related courses at Sheridan College as a part time faculty member since 2016.

Jay Sobel believes that his educational qualifications and his professional work experiences in domestic and international hi-tech product research and development suit him exceptionally well to fulfill the role of MP for Don Valley North and will allow him to credibly address the major issues that Canada and Canadians are faced with today!

He has worked for the City of North York Department of Public Health in Heath Education and Promotion.

He has worked in Hospital and Hospital Furniture Design with Parkin Architects Ltd. and Keith Muller Ltd. Industrial Designers.

Jay has worked in Medical Equipment Design with Baylis Medical and Spark Innovations Inc.

He has developed Personal Protective Equipment for First Responders in Military and Civilian Police Forces with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Force's Explosive Technologies and Biological Agents Division, the Canadian Armed Forces, Royal Military College and Med-Eng Systems Inc.

Jay Sobel and his wife Quigna are residents of Don Valley North. Jay has lived in this riding for nearly 38 of the past 54 years (1967-1989) and (2006 - present day).

Always community minded, and in the interests of ALL Canadians from ALL walks of life, (and not simply targeted ethnic and cultural communities to pander to for votes), Jay has 32 years of volunteer experience coaching competitive teams of young boys and girls in the Ontario Lacrosse Association (1980-2012) guiding them to 16 championship titles.           He has helped raise over $47,000.00 for the Canadian Center for Abuse Awareness and the Spirit of the Stick Campaign by co-organizing, marketing and participating in DOVE2008, a Marathon Charity Lacrosse Game. Jay and his pet dog Corey were awarded a Certificate of Recognition from Toronto Fire Services on behalf of the Citizens of Toronto for rescuing a drowning man in a backyard pool in the Bayview Woods neighbourhood of Don Valley North in 2007, and his dog Corey was inducted into the Purina Animal Hall of Fame for his heoric feats.

Jay Sobel is anxious to bring "Design Thinking" and his "Human-Centric" approach to problem solving to Canadian federal politics as the MP for Don Valley North in order to provide innovative and cost-effective solutions to the problems we are ALL now facing.  Why? Because he has proven they work! With a certificate in "Effective Teamwork and Collaboration", Jay's goal is to foster collaboration between parties in a minority government and return to Parliamentary Governance as opposed to dictatorial rule, in order to realize appropriate objectives for Canada that put CANADIANS FIRST and above the Global Agenda of hostile United Nations Member States which has been purposefully championed to weaken our sovereignty, our economy, our defenses and our way of life!

Contrary to Justin Trudeau's claim, there IS such thing as a Canadian! Canada does NOT need to be re-imagined in Justin Trudeau's vain image. Hard working Canadians do NOT deserve a capital gains tax on the sale of their primary residence to pay for undelivered and broken Liberal Promises. The People's Party of Canada will put Canada on the road to economic recovery and growth through fiscal responsibility and championing your Charter Rights and Freedoms.
