Watching my children leave the Kootenays and seeing families devastated by addiction has made this personal. I’m running to restore opportunity, change failed drug policies, and help build safer communities where our children can see a future.

My wife and I built our life and raised our family here in the Kootenays. Watching our children leave has made the question of our region’s future deeply personal. I want the next generation to see a future here—a place where they can find meaningful work, afford a home, and build a life close to family.

I’m also deeply concerned by the addiction and overdose crisis in our communities. Behind every life lost is a person, a family, and people who loved them. I believe drug policies have failed to deliver the safety, treatment, and recovery support our communities need. We need to change course, with accessible treatment, a clear path to recovery, and safer neighbourhoods for everyone.

I’m running because I care about what happens to this place and the people in it. I want to bring the concerns we discuss around our kitchen tables to Victoria and work toward a community where our children want to stay—or come home.
