Jason Cook is a business and financial-services professional with more than two decades of experience in foreign exchange and capital markets, where his work required strong analytical and problem-solving skills, careful assessment of risk, and well-informed decision-making in complex and changing circumstances. As a resident of Courtenay, Jason strongly believes in volunteerism and contributing to the community around him, a principle he puts into practice through his volunteer service with Habitat for Humanity on the Family Services Selection Committee. Guided by his personal values of growth, respect, and integrity, Jason believes leadership means listening carefully, treating people with respect, and having the courage to pursue meaningful change when something can be done better.

Jason’s decision to become more involved in public life is also deeply personal. The loss of his mother in 2024, following his family’s difficult experience with British Columbia’s healthcare system, prompted him to take a closer look at where the system is falling short and how it can be improved. Over the past two years, he has researched ways to improve the efficiency and delivery of healthcare and has identified practical changes designed to deliver tangible benefits for patients and the public. That work reinforced his belief that better outcomes are possible when government is willing to listen, learn, and act—and that difficult experiences can be turned into constructive action that benefits others. That search led Jason to become involved with the emerging CentreBC movement in February 2025 and its commitment to evidence-based policy, fiscal responsibility, collaboration, and practical solutions. He is seeking public office not simply to identify what is wrong, but to help deliver meaningful results—from healthcare and affordability to housing, public safety, economic opportunity, and a government that works effectively for his community and all British Columbians.
