I have called Burnaby home for 15 years. Mother to 3 and Founder of WOMB. I have advocated for safer neighbourhoods & bring personal commitment to mental wellness, equitable access to education & responsible public spending. Phase 2 of Burnaby General Hospital is my top priority.
Hello fellow Burnabarians! My name is Jenny Yamagata and I have called Burnaby home for 15 years. I am a Mother to three beautiful children whom I enjoy the challenge of parenting alongside my husband, Dean.
I am the founder of Women's Oasis for Maternal Wellness & Birth (WOMB), a Non-Profit with a vision to be a community based birth and maternal wellness centre serving women and their families in their prenatal, birth and postpartum experiences.
Prior to having children, I worked as the Administrative Assistant at Capilano Golf & Country Club and was 2iC for over 13 years at my family glass art studio, Montpetit Studios. I have extensive background in the service and hospitality industry and have dedicated my time volunteering with numerous organizations including the Burnaby Wildcats on the RDT Committee, and six years as a Girl Guide Leader.
I have advocated for safer neighbourhood streets at the municipal level and have spent a significant amount of time over the past six years working to hold our public officials accountable. I bring a personal commitment to the mental well being of our youth and teachers, equitable access to education for all students and responsible public spending. Getting Phase 2 of Burnaby General Hospital built will be a top priority for me.
I am a fierce social justice warrior and courageous enough to speak up for those whose human rights have been violated. I take the time to listen to the concerns of my friends and neighbours, and come up with innovative solutions to address their issues. I would be honoured to be your Member of the Legislative Assembly representing you, the people of Burnaby North.
