Anthony is an active community member who has held leadership roles with the South Surrey/White Rock Chamber of Commerce, the Surrey & White Rock Board of Trade, White Rock Rotary, the White Rock Museum & Archives, and Peninsula Productions. He believes collaboration and service are essential to improving the community.
Anthony has identified two focus areas for his next term:
- Efficient use of tax revenue
High property taxes are one of the concerns residents raise most often. They rightly want to know whether their tax dollars are being spent wisely. One effective way to assess this is through a core services review—an independent evaluation of how a city delivers services. The review can identify duplicated services, streamline administrative processes, reduce costs, and better align spending with community priorities. - Revitalise our commercial districts
Many buildings along Marine Drive and Johnston Road are aging, and some storefronts are nearly a century old. These commercial areas need renewed investment. Revitalisation tax exemptions can encourage property improvements and economic development by offering targeted incentives in designated properties or districts. Vote for Anthony Manning on October 17 and return an independent, pragmatic voice to council.
