When I was 30, a car accident while travelling changed the direction of my life. I share this because it shaped qualities I rely on every day—resilience, adaptability, and a practical understanding of how people navigate their communities in different ways. I've always believed that what matters most is not what happens to us, but what we choose to do with it.
Rebuilding my life didn't just change my path—it broadened my perspective and strengthened how I connect with others. That experience has guided more than 20 years of work in disability inclusion, accessibility, and community engagement. Through consulting, public speaking, and collaborative projects across British Columbia, I've seen how thoughtful planning and open conversations help communities work better for everyone.
My volunteer leadership on North Shore boards, committees, and provincial working groups has kept me closely connected to the issues residents care about. Together, those experiences have given me a grounded, collaborative perspective shaped by lived experience, practical problem-solving, and years of working alongside diverse organizations and community members.
Listening, learning, and working together have always been at the heart of what I do.

I'm running because the choices we make today will shape West Van for years to come. I believe good leadership starts with listening, asking thoughtful questions, & working collaboratively to make practical, well-informed decisions. That's the approach I want to bring to Council.
I first ran for Council in 2022, and that experience deepened my understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing our community. Since then, I've remained actively involved—continuing to listen, learn, contribute, and speak up on issues that matter to West Vancouver.
A car accident may have changed the course of my life, but it is what came after that has shaped who I am. I learned to adapt, find opportunities in unexpected places, and approach challenges with resilience and an open mind. That experience taught me that resilience isn't about resisting change—it's about knowing what is worth preserving while adapting thoughtfully when circumstances require it. I believe the same is true for communities.
Through my work and community involvement, I've learned that few issues exist in isolation. Housing, transportation, parks, infrastructure, finances, the environment, and community well-being are all connected. Good stewardship means understanding those connections, balancing today's needs with the needs of future generations, and making thoughtful decisions with a long-term perspective.
I believe West Vancouver can preserve what makes it special while preparing thoughtfully for the future. By listening carefully, planning responsibly, and making decisions that reflect our shared values, we can strengthen a community that remains vibrant, financially responsible, environmentally sustainable, and welcoming for people at every stage of life.
I'm ready to bring my experience, perspective, and commitment to Council, and I'd be honoured to earn your support.
