Biographie
Tali Campbell is a community and sports leader who has built his career around bringing people together, developing young people and creating stronger organizations and communities.
As President and General Manager of the Coquitlam Express, Tali has had the opportunity to work closely with families, volunteers, local businesses, community organizations and leaders throughout Coquitlam. His work goes far beyond what happens on the ice. It is about building partnerships, creating opportunities for young people, supporting local initiatives and ensuring the organization is an active and positive part of the community.
That experience has given Tali a practical understanding of leadership. He knows what it means to manage budgets, make difficult decisions, listen to different perspectives, build partnerships and be accountable for results.
Tali believes Coquitlam is one of the best communities in British Columbia and that the decisions made over the next several years will be critical to keeping it that way.
Rapid population growth is creating new opportunities, but it is also putting pressure on housing, transportation, infrastructure, recreation facilities and the cost of living. Tali believes growth needs to be managed thoughtfully, with infrastructure and community services keeping pace and taxpayers getting good value for their money.
He is running as an Independent because municipal government should be focused on the community rather than political labels. His approach is practical: listen to residents, ask questions, bring people together and make decisions based on what will serve Coquitlam over the long term.
Tali wants to bring a new generation of leadership to City Hall while respecting the people and community that have helped build Coquitlam into what it is today.
For him, serving on Council would be an opportunity to give back to a community that has given him so much and to help ensure Coquitlam remains a safe, vibrant and welcoming place to live, work, raise a family and build a future.
Raison de la candidature
I’m running for Coquitlam Council because I believe our community is entering an important period, and I want to play a meaningful role in shaping what comes next.
Coquitlam is growing quickly. That growth brings opportunity, but it also means important decisions about housing, transportation, infrastructure, recreation, public safety, taxes and the services residents rely on every day. I believe we need leaders who are prepared to look beyond the next election and make responsible decisions for the long-term future of our city.
My experience in community and sport has taught me that good leadership starts with listening. It means bringing people with different perspectives together, asking good questions, managing resources responsibly and ultimately being willing to make decisions and be accountable for them.
That is the approach I would bring to City Council.
I’m not running because I believe I have all the answers. I’m running because I’m prepared to listen to residents, do the homework, challenge assumptions and work with others to find practical solutions.
I also believe there is an opportunity to bring a fresh perspective and a new generation of leadership to City Hall. Coquitlam should be a community where young people can see a future for themselves, families can put down roots, seniors can remain connected to their community, businesses can succeed and residents feel they are receiving value for the taxes they pay.
Most importantly, I want residents to feel that their councillor is accessible. If someone has a concern, an idea or simply believes the City could be doing something better, I want them to know they can reach me and that they will be heard.
I’m asking for your vote because I’m ready to work hard, listen and bring people together. I want to help ensure that as Coquitlam grows, we don't lose the sense of community that makes this such a special place to call home.
