Bryce Tippe

Not based on ideology, but based on the tangible effects on Kelowna and the rest of British Columbia. I genuinely want what’s best for the province and will always look at every angle.

Affordability

Public transit

Promesse de BC Greens

I support fast, frequent and free bus service; this reduces traffic, greenhouse gas emissions, and reduces the cost of living.

Climate Change & the Environment

Forests and forestry

Promesse de BC Greens

We must end logging of old-growth forests and support forestry-revenue-dependant communities to create environmentally sustainable jobs.

Power generation

Promesses de BC Greens

I commit to bringing forward a private members bill to end fossil fuel subsidies.
BC Greens will end permitting for new fracking, phase out gas production, and reject any new LNG projects.

Education

K-12 funding

Equity in education means that every student receives a school issues laptop, for students in grade 6-12.

K-12 learning needs

Promesse de BC Greens

We must equip teachers and students with the knowledge to keep pace with our rapidly changing digital world through digital literacy.

School nutrition

Promesse de BC Greens

I support a universal school program to ensure equal access, high nutritional standards and strong collaboration with communities.

Student mental health

Promesse de BC Greens

We must expand access to school psychologists and increase the number of guidance counsellors.

Healthcare

Drugs and addiction

Promesse de BC Greens

I support regulated alternatives to toxic supply, cutting profit for organized crime and increased connection to health and social services

Family doctors and primary care

Promesse de BC Greens

I will ensure that everyone has access to a Primary Health Care centre, offering timely and comprehensive care in once place.

Health staffing

Promesse de BC Greens

The province must support physicians with leases and administration so that physicians can focus on patient care.

Hospitals

Promesse de BC Greens

Our hospitals have been underfunded for too long; they are falling into disrepair. I will ensure they have the resources to re-open 24/7.

Housing & Homelessness

I support regulated alternatives to toxic supply, cutting profit for organized crime and increased connection to health and social services

A recent graduate with a political science degree, Bryce is passionate about institutional reform which allows for a more transparent and accountable government.

Bryce Tippe was born and raised in Revelstoke, British Columbia, and spent his adulthood living in communities across the Interior and Lower Mainland, giving him a deep appreciation for the diversity of experiences and challenges faced by British Columbians.

Growing up, Bryce faced severe discrimination, leading to a personal battle with depression and anxiety during his early 20s—a struggle he nearly lost. Yet, he chose to take these negative experiences and use them as fuel for more positive ends. Inspired to become the person he needed in his youth, Bryce committed himself to reducing unnecessary suffering and leaving a positive mark on the world.

He believed that real change began with quality legislation and became increasingly frustrated with the apparent disconnect between those in power and the general public. Tired of the status quo, he decided to return to school to study political science, hoping to gain the expertise to make a meaningful impact. Bryce became the first person in his family to attend university, and his passion, insight, and leadership were quickly recognized by his instructors. His drive to speak up and contribute meaningfully made him stand out.

Now a recent graduate, Bryce is running as a candidate for Kelowna Centre with the BC Green Party. A testament to his dedication to improving Kelowna, he is balancing his campaign while working a full-time graveyard job. Though his team is much more grassroots and limited in resources than his fellow candidates, Bryce is determined to bring his tenacity, insight, and vision to provincial politics for a more accountable and transparent British Columbia.

Raison de la candidature

There is a deep disillusionment with politics all across the political divide and, as a strong believer in democracy and its principles, I want to institute changes to the system that will reduce the dysfunction in our government.

Regardless of party or ideology, the quality of effective policy implementation has significantly decreased over the past few decades. People have lost faith in political parties, politicians, and their governments. This is largely due to politicians acting in bad faith, prioritizing staying in power above all else. In a democracy, this is achieved through reelection and campaigning, so parties have chosen to favor actions that yield immediate results, even for issues that require long-term solutions.

Politicians consistently over-promise, under-deliver, and outright lie when it suits their needs. As a strong believer in representative democracy, I find this infuriating. I believe that those in power should be held to a higher standard than those they govern. I also believe we can successfully restructure government to be more transparent and accountable to the public, forcing politicians to act in good faith. We face monumental challenges in the coming decades, and it is essential that we have a robust, adaptive, and responsive democracy to weather the storm. This is why I have chosen to dedicate my life to politics—so we can have a government that truly represents us.
